9 And again, ye shall not have pain while ye shall dwell in the flesh, neither sorrow save it be for the sins of the world; and all this will I do because of the thing which ye have desired of me, for ye have desired that ye might bring the souls of men unto me, while the world shall stand.
10 And for this cause ye shall have fulness of joy; and ye shall sit down in the kingdom of my Father; yea, your joy shall be full, even as the Father hath given me fulness of joy; and ye shall be even as I am, and I am even as the Father; and the Father and I are one;

I can relate to the desires of both groups of Nephites. After having seen the savior and been in his presence, the allure of swiftly returning would have been strong. We often speak about the blessings of eternal life, so it’s natural to want to get there. Also, I imagine that after a long life our desires for eternity will only increase since we will long for reunion with so many departed loved ones.

On the other hand, the three Nephites had a great desire to continually preach and teach others. They were so passionate about the blessings of the savior that they wanted to have the chance to share his message forever. This is also a righteous desire. 

I love how the savior promises the three  Nephites shall not experience sorrow other than sorrow for the sins of the world. This is the same kind of Godly sorrow that our Father in Heaven and our Sacior are shown to feel. It is a natural outgrowth of our love for others. 

I also love how they are promised that they will in time have all of the blessings of eternity. It is so valuable to know that while we serve others we do not sacrifice any promised blessings.
