All too often we are caught up in the perspective of this life. From our vantage point, years, or decades all seem like an eternity. It feels deeply unjust that someone should be deprived of a desired blessing in this life. If the desires of our heart remain unfulfilled then this must be a damning indictment of God in some way.

Would someone asked to be chaste, either due to lack of marriage opportunity or due to improper attractions, not be comforted to know that within a day they would get all of their righteous desires?

In the scope of eternity all of our struggles are like a single day. All our sorrow will be swallowed up by the vast joy of eternal life. All of our heartbreak and longing will be forgotten. If we can engrave his truth in our then we will have the faith and capacity to endure to the end. We will be able to bear our burdens with grace. We will overcome all things because we have reason to hope for all things.
