Well I’m guilty of feeling entirely too self absorbed with a sprained knee that is sidelining me this week. And last week too. But I’m grateful for every person that has rushed to open a door, or carry a load for me, smiling, announcing with a sigh, “I’ve been on crutches before, it’s hard.” While their empathy may come from shared experience, one of our weekly picks explain that not all empathy is so simple or judgement free: it’s a choice.
