Today was a very special day. It started with the the honor of singing in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and with our special guest, "The President's Own" Marine Band brass and percussion accompanying us. It was truly a magnificent experience. Knowing of who the band was, and what they stood for made me even more honored to be singing with them. Their dedication to what they do and how they do it is inspiring.

And in the afternoon, my wife and I had the blessed opportunity of attending the Ogden, Utah temple rededication in our Stake building. It was great to witness those in attendance, especially the younger children accompanied by their parents. Seeing their faces, witnessing absolutely quiet and reverence as our Stake building took on the role of an extended temple. Seeing the young children pointing to the screen as they leaned over and whispered to the their parent, I can imagine that the children had questions on what they were seeing, and the parents whispering back responses to their children's questions. I'm pretty sure I caught a glimpse of heaven, and when we were still in the spirit world. We, like those children pointed and leaned over to ask questions, and a loving Father in Heaven (or Mother in Heaven) whispered back an answer to appease us. It was truly a special time that I shall not soon forget.

The whole "rededication" notion got me thinking; Today, I witnessed the rededication of a beautiful edifice to the Lord - and I also wish to say that I am striving more with rededicating my life in the service of the Lord. Rededication is wonderful in so many ways. In the temple, it is turning the building over to the Lord for His house. And for me, it is a turning of my heart, soul, might, and mind over to the Lord in His service, that his Spirit may feel more welcome to enjoy my "temple".

We can all experience a rededication in our lives - whether that is righting something that we know we are not presently doing, immersing ourselves deeper into service, or even being a better citizen. We can rededicate ourselves that each day that we start off to work will be filled with learning and doing. That we can become better employees to our boss. We can rededicate ourselves to our families. We can rededicate ourselves to learning that one thing that we have been putting off for some time now. We can rededicate ourselves in furthering our education - formally and informally.

Each Sunday, as we partake of the very sacred emblems of the Sacrament, we can rededicate our lives  to the Lord. We can rededicate ourselves to be a better Home/Visiting Teacher, to go more often to the house of the Lord, or to become worthy to do so. We can dedicate ourselves through the words of counsel that the Lord's chosen will speak on with the upcoming General Women's and General Conferences. We can rededicate ourselves to be worthy vessels in furthering the work of the Lord.

May we look into ourselves and rededicate ourselves each and every day.
