segullahThis month’s edition of the Segullah Journal has just been posted. I confess this might sound like self promotion, as my first journal publication is among this month’s offerings. While I can’t bring myself to read my own piece again and think of the things I still might want to tweak, I could not resist the striking and sweet poetry offerings. Terresa Wellborn’s poem, “A Funeral for My Twelve-Year-Old Daughter,” is a concise beauty, and Dayna Patterson’s poem observes unexpected grace. With the rounding editorial introduction from Holly Baker,  these pieces invoke humanity and remind us of the power of telling and sharing stories- including my narrative, “Little Jeweled Pieces,” of how I wrote my grandmother’s stories into a book.

It’s a good month to read the journal.
