Few words bring such warmth and love to a father than hearing your child say, “I Love you daddy.” When I come home from my work travels and hear those words from any of my five girls, I realize, on perhaps a smaller scale, what prayer means to my Heavenly Father.

I spend most of my prayers thinking about what prayer is doing for me, how prayer changes my life. But prayer is for us to bring our lives in line with God’s will, and to a certain extent, to simply say to God, our Heavenly Father–I love you daddy.

While we take the time to celebrate our earthly father’s on Father’s Day, I want to encourage you to take a moment…right now…and say a simple prayer to our Heavenly Father and say, “Heavenly Father, I love you.” If your experience is anything like mine, you will feel the arms of his love encircle you and say in return, “I love you, too.”
