GM (General Motors) has lost more than $80 billion in the past 4 years.

Then in a smart financial move, the US government stepped in with $50 billion in aid and transformed GM into Government Motors.

Government Motors had planed to sell Opel, to focus on profitable regions, like Latin America and Asia. But now, the German government has given GM another $2.2 billion dollars, so they'll instead hang on to Opel and upgrade their manufacturing plant in Europe.

More US taxpayer money down the drain and more jobs shifted overseas.

But, who know? Maybe they'll come up with some really great new designs like those below.
