"And behold, I say unto you he changeth not; if so he would cease to be God; and he ceaseth not to be God, and is a God of miracles" (Mormon 9:19).Because God is an unchanging God He continues to give His word unto us, which is why we have The Book of Mormon and other Latter-day Scriptures. For the Lord said:
"For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles; and I will show unto the world that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and I work not among the children of men save it be according to their faith" (2 Nephi 27:23).
"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever" (Hebrews 13:8).
"For the Spirit is the same, yesterday, today, and forever..." (2 Nephi 2:4).
"Wherefore murmur ye, because that ye shall receive more of my word? Know ye not that the testimony of two nations is a witness unto you that I am God, that I remember one nation like unto another? Wherefore, I speak the same words unto one nation like unto another....Isn't it marvelous that God loves us just as much as He loved those who lived in ancient days and has given us greater light and knowledge? I love all of God's scriptures and studying His word.
"And I do this that I may prove unto many that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and that I speak forth my words according to mine own pleasure. And because that I have spoken one word ye need not suppose that I cannot speak another; for my work is not yet finished; neither shall it be until the end of man, neither from that time henceforth and forever.
"Wherefore, because that ye have a Bible ye need not suppose that it contains all my words; neither need ye suppose that I have not caused more to be written" (2 Nephi 29:8-10).
