Of course there are people who are racist, but I don't think this is the major reason people are so angry. I think people are finally recognizing that over the last many years, the federal government has assumed way too much power. A strong central government that runs everything is communism-- whether we have a democrat or a republican at the head. That SCARES me.
My America is built on individual rights and responsibilities, with more power at the state and local levels. Unfortunately for Obama, in his efforts to push his agenda agressively, he has awakened the sleeping giant who (1) doesn't want such a strong, controlling government and (2) doesn't want it to be on the extreme left.
