Richard Holmes, the creator of FLOEW, sent me his four step memorization plan to share with anyone who'd like to use it. FLOEW stands for: the First Letter Of Every Word and is a way to commit scriptures, or other written works, to memory.

About his memorization plan Richard said it's "fairly simple, once understood. FLOEW memorizing still takes time, depending on one’s natural abilities and motivation. Yet having a straightforward plan makes memorizing less frustrating."

Richard created pdf files of the 100 Scripture Mastery Scriptures that are used in the Church's Seminary program. One version has two scriptures per page while the other has one scripture per page. Both files include all 100 Scripture Mastery Scriptures and can either be printed on card stock or cut and pasted onto 3x5 cards.

Memorizing the scriptures is a powerful way to win our battles with Satan. For awhile now I've been writing those scriptures (and quotes from our prophets and apostles) that are important to me onto 3x5 cards. As I reread these scriptures not only am I committing them to memory but I am continually reminded of the Lord's promises. This technique for studying the word of God has increased my faith and helped me through some difficult times.

If you use the FLOEW memorization plan I would be greatly interested to know how it works for you.
