Around the world, children and youth serve others with their families and friends, in Primary service activities, and in Young Men and Young Women activities. Parents and leaders can lead by example, teach about service, and serve together with Primary children, Young Men, and Young Women.
The following are resources to find ideas for service projects:
- JustServe.org has a list of service project ideas by category, including activities, art, care packages, collections, and events. It also has a page of successful practices for starting a service club at school.
- Caring.ChurchofJesusChrist.org has coloring pages for young children that show examples of children serving others. It also has a page of resources for youth with ideas for service projects.
- The Church’s Gospel for Kids YouTube channel has a playlist of videos titled “Caring for Those in Need.”
- The PDF “Service and Activity Guidelines for Children” on the Church’s website helps Primary leaders plan meaningful service opportunities and wholesome, fun activities.
- General Handbook, 12.2.1.3, explains more about how Primary presidencies may organize an annual community service activity.
