The following are the pageants sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Nauvoo and British Pageants

The Nauvoo Pageant and the British Pageant are outdoor theatrical productions held in Nauvoo, Illinois, each July and August.

  • The Nauvoo Pageant celebrates the faith, sacrifice, and community spirit of early members of the Church who settled in Nauvoo during the 1840s. This live musical drama focuses on the Saints’ efforts to build a city and a temple under the prophetic leadership of Joseph Smith. It features authentic hymns and folk songs, lively pioneer dances, and narration by the character Parley P. Pratt.
  • The British Pageant is an outdoor theatrical production held in Nauvoo, Illinois, each July and August. It celebrates the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ and early missionary efforts to establish the Church in the British Isles. With dramatic ties back to early British religious reformers, it depicts the journey of faith and sacrifice many early British converts made as they embraced the light of the restored gospel.
  • Theatrical Vignettes. In addition to their roles in large-scale pageants, cast members and missionaries can be seen in Historic Nauvoo throughout the day, giving visitors a chance to experience historical figures (like Joseph and Emma Smith) in smaller, more historic settings. Through music, song, dance, and theatrical performance, these short vignettes help guests learn more about the people and events that took place in Nauvoo. Learn more about these vignettes.
