It was one of those idle conversations.  “I think stillness is at the heart of the gospel,” she said.  I am interested.  “What about glory?  It’s in the scriptures all over,” I say.  She nods.  She says, “I think glory is where stillness and action meet.”

I don’t know what that means, but I know it is true.

Lets work out what it could mean.

Glory is the contemplation of some wonderful deed.  Glory implies a beholder.  Our glory implies the existence of God.  God’s glory implies first the Godhead and second us.

Stillness before action is agency.

Stillness during action is love.

Stillness after action is gratitude.

Thanksgiving (giving thanks) is gratitude converted to an action.
