In a post on LDS Church Growth, researcher Matt Martinich lists the U. S. states with the highest percentages. Here are the top 10, as of 2016:

  1. Utah: 68%. 2,065,808 Church members in a state of 3,051,217.
  2. Idaho: 26%. 444,614 Church members in a state of 1,683,140.
  3. Wyoming: 12%. 67,505 Church members in a state of 585,501.
  4. Nevada: 6%. 182,617 Church members in a state of 2,940,058.
  5. Arizona: 6%. 423,056 Church members in a state of 6,931,071.
  6. Hawaii: 5%. 73,927 Church members in a state of 1,428,557.
  7. Montana: 5%. 50,145 Church members in a state of 1,042,520.
  8. Alaska: 5%. 33,810 Church members in a state of 741,894.
  9. Washington: 4%. 287,433 Church members in a state of 7,288,000.
  10. Oregon: 4%. 153,936 Church members in a state of 4,093,465.
