My method for home church ideas is to think of things I would really like to do and see if they fit into a home church paradigm.

Well, for a long time I’ve envied people who somehow know enough musical friends that they can get together and gave jam sessions in their home.

So why not a hymn jam?  My wife and I both came up with the idea separately.  Every now and again, once a month, once a quarter, irregularly as desired, invite friends and family over for hymn jam.  At its simplest you take turns picking out favorite hymns for everyone to sing.  Maybe you add just a touch of singing instruction for the uninitiated.  You could expand it out by asking people to bring instruments if they have any.  At one time I could play Abide with Me on the harmonica . . .
