What do various ideologies look like when weighed in the Step 3 balance?

Marxism
All about class, nothing about kids. Radically deficient.

Capitalism
All about maximizing returns, not about rearing kids. Radically deficient.

Hedonism
Boo, hiss.

Classical liberalism/libertarianism
By themselves, they have nothing in particular to say about kids. In fact, for libertarians at least kids fit pretty awkwardly into the theory.

On the other hand, Darth Vader’s version of classical liberalism pays close attention to what freedom is and therefore has much more to say about children. Understanding that freedom is agents making meaningful choice means that having more children and raising them leads to more freedom. First, in that the choice to raise children and the choice of how to raise them is extremely meaningful. Second, in that the child develops into another agent.

Religions

Mormonism excels at this, but most religions seem to have some explicit acknowledgment of family, and Christianity and Mormonism in particular seem to have a role for family that fits well into the whole structure instead of just being tacked on.
