The equipment is stored and the dust has settled, but talk still lingers about a very successful 2015 LDSTech Conference. If you missed it, it was held on October 15 at the Institute of Religion building on the University of Utah campus in Salt Lake City, USA. Words like “impressive,” “interesting,” “informative,” “interactive,” and “insightful” echoed in the halls. Many conference participants brought their own energy and expertise in the form of well-thought-out questions and valuable experience using Church technology in many ways.

There were about 500 attendees, 29 formal presentations that were approved and available, and demos by App & Game Contest winners. Great ideas were all around. Church employees and many volunteers were on hand to answer questions and direct participants around the conference venue.

Sessions covered everything from social media to member tools and resources, to futuristic discussions on cutting-edge applications of technology for a growing, diverse, worldwide audience that eagerly consumes Church media and messages.

Sessions were recorded for “virtual” participants and will be posted soon on the conference page at http://tech.lds.org. You will want to tune into recorded sessions for review, use them for training purposes, and revisit the keynote speaker. The recordings will help you experience your own revelatory experience with Church technology.

If you have been anxiously awaiting new apps and games with gospel-centered themes, visit the Contest Gallery and browse the apps now available at the various app stores and public web sites. There is much there that will be a delight for practical applications and not just for “gamers.”
