Bill Holman, Director of End-User Productivity Tools in the Information and Communication Services (ICS) Department of the Church, will kick off the 2015 LDSTech Conference on October 15. He has entitled his keynote address, “Envision This!” to highlight the wonderful age of technological revelation that is transforming the way we live. Basing his remarks on his own experience, he will review how this revelatory process works, what it has yielded so far, and where it is going as we work together to build a technology-enabled future in support of the missions of the Church.

Brother Holman has a long history with Church information technology. Having received his degree from Brigham Young University (BYU) in ‘Information Systems,” and having participated in the unfolding of Church technologies in many different arenas, he is well qualified to speak with authority and conviction. He was employed for fourteen years in many different positions in the Office of Information Technology at Brigham Young University. While at that great institution, he loved the opportunity to serve the students, faculty, and employees.

In 2006, he began his employment in the ICS Department where he, in his own words, gets to “fulfill his dream of marrying his devotion to his religious convictions and his passion for technology!” In his current capacity he has had the privilege of leading some of the most strategic efforts within the Church including establishing LDS Account, which serves as a single, global, identity for all members of the Church and upon which nearly all Church systems now rely.

He has played a significant role in setting up meetinghouse Internet technologies, deploying webcasting to support broadcast streaming worldwide, and making accessible collaboration tools, desktop computing, and voice and video communication technologies for employees, missionaries, and other Church members.

His content will be original, inspired, and an anchor for everything that follows at the LDSTech Conference. If you are unable to participate live, the keynote address will be recorded and available at a later date on LDSTech. If you are planning to come to the conference, get set for your own “revelatory experience!”
