Are you thinking about coming to Salt Lake on October 15 for the 2015 LDSTech Conference and wondering if the trip will be worth your while?  There’s plenty to do in and around Salt Lake before and after the event, and the conference experience will be like no other.

The Conference page has information about registration, the schedule, transportation, and discounted lodging, and a number of other things. The more you consider your options the more you’ll see the advantages of onsite attendance.

Here are 10 reasons why attending in person merits “top billing” on your Salt Lake itinerary:

  1. You will get to attend information-packed sessions on Church technology topics for an entire day at no cost—yes, attendance is free!
  2. You will be able to interact with other technology-minded attendees and be surrounded by ideas and information on the cutting edge of technology trends in the Church.
  3. You will have opportunities to collaborate with technical experts on technical challenges related to your calling as well as using tools and resources sponsored and published by the Church.
  4. You will be present when the 2015 App & Game winners are announced at the conference.
  5. You will be able to participate in question and answer sessions with each presentation you attend.
  6. You will have free breakfast and lunch so you won’t miss anything “happening” all day long.
  7. You’ll meet Church employees and project volunteers, make new friends, and have networking opportunities.
  8. You will be present to hear Bill Holman, keynote speaker, as he wows the onsite audience with “a revelatory experience” on the technology of the future as it supports the missions of the Church.
  9. You’ll be able to use public transportation to easily reach the Conference at the Institute of Religion Building on the University of Utah Campus from downtown Salt Lake City or find plenty of near-by parking if you are traveling from a distance.
  10. You’ll probably get some free swag (although quantities are limited, so first come, first serve).

Cabs, limos, and airport shuttles can get you from the airport to your hotel. Public transportation can get you around the greater Salt Lake area to visit other points of interest.

As for what to wear to the conference, the dress code is casual to business casual. Jeans are acceptable, but avoid shorts and sandals.

Take a minute to register, bring a friend, and carry your mobile device or laptop. Plan to spend a wonderful day of immersion in Church technology!
