Today would be Betsey’s 14th birthday. This is what I wrote on her birthday  ten years ago.

Its been a long time.  I remember this little girl, this chubby-cheeked little toddler.  Too often a hollow-eyed little toddler.  But if she’d lived, that would all be gone.  She’d be going into the MIA Maids, gossiping and giggling, starting to think about boys.  When she died we didn’t just lose our precious little girl.  We lost a future too.
