Several key areas around the world need full-time senior technology missionaries. If you have a desire, are technically inclined, and able to serve outside the US, your skills would bless the work of the Church as an Area Technology Specialist (ATS) in Europe, Korea (Korean speaking), South Africa, or the Pacific at this time.

ATS missionaries provide training and technical support to stake technology specialists (STS) where they serve. ATS assignments also include supporting area leadership, facilities management groups, or missions with help for their technology needs.

ATSs serve under the direction of the area Information and Communication Services (ICS) Area Manager and must be fluent in English.

Area technology missions are ideal for worthy people who have worked in the IT industry, but are not limited to those with IT degrees or extensive IT experience. Opportunities are open to anyone who has “skill with computers, printers, copiers, scanners, wired and wireless networks, the Internet, and audiovisual equipment” as stated on the website (http://tech.lds.org/mission).

Married couples with no dependents may serve together as technology specialists, or one spouse may serve as the ATS and the other may fulfill another assignment in the same location and/or area office.

For more information and answers to questions you may have about serving an ATS mission, contact the Area Technology Specialist coordinators, Elder Gary and Sister Marilyn Peterson.
