If “G.C. Duerden” looks familiar, it’s probably because that’s the byline of the Church Service Missionary (CSM) who has been writing most of the articles for our LDSTech blog for the past year or so.

An experienced newspaper journalist, Elder Greg Duerden is a writer by trade, and a talented one at that. He wrote for newspapers all over Utah (Monticello to Ogden), in Colorado, Wyoming, and California before retiring and putting his skills to work for LDSTech.

“Being a CSM is as easy as falling off a log, but a lot more fun,” Elder Duerden said.

“The people are great to work with and we only hope we provided as much worth to them as they have given to us.”

The LDSTech team was lucky to find him and his newlywed wife, Sister Marianne Kjar-Duerden, to serve as CSMs for the past 14 months.

Though Sister Duerden’s health kept her from contributing as much as she would have like, Elder Duerden kept those articles coming. Sadly, towards the end of her mission, Sister Duerden passed away.

Elder Duerden continued on and finished out his service, even extending a couple of months to take care of the LDSTech Conference stories. Talk about dedication!

As is the case with most missionary callings, it does come to an end. We bid a fond farewell to Elder Duerden and thank him for the fine work he has done serving all of us.
