The video below shows over 80 students from the Olympus High School (Salt Lake City) graduating class of 2012 opening their calls to serve as missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

When President Thomas S. Monson announced that youth could serve LDS missions at a younger age–young men at 18 and young women at 19–many young people contacted their bishops within minutes to begin their paperwork.

Thousands of youth across the world now have their mission calls and are ready to serve. One of those missionaries, Danielle Chard, a 19-year-old from Salt Lake City, compiled this video of her classmates at Olympus High School opening their mission calls.

Young men serve missions for a period of 2 years and young women serve for 18 months. LDS missionaries do not choose where they will serve; the assignments are given by leaders of the LDS Church.
