Tens of thousands of Mormon meetinghouses are open to all people who wish to attend religious services. A temple is different, however, because after temples are formally dedicated, like the Brigham City Utah Temple was yesterday, only the most devout Latter-day Saints may enter. They go to the temple to make covenants through ordinances that unite families for eternity.
