LDS women hold leadership positions in the Mormon Church

Arise and shine forth!

Last night, the General Young Women Meeting of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was held in the Church’s Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. 20,000+ Mormon young women, mothers, and young women leaders were in attendance, and the meeting was broadcast via satellite to church buildings all over the world. The talks were given by members of the Young Women General Presidency, as well as Thomas S. Monson, our prophet.

Audio and video archives in multiple languages are available on the 2012 General Young Women Meeting page. More translated material will be available soon (more info at LDS Media Talk).

A video presentation, “Arise to the Mountain,” was shown midway through the meeting, including a song celebrating this year’s youth theme. The choir in the Conference Center provided some of the music while the video was playing. You can watch the video below.

You can also download the music from the video at the LDS youth music page (both with vocals and/or as a minus track).

Find archives from past General Young Women Meetings.

And here a the video sharing thoughts form several Mormon young women about this year’s youth theme of “Arise and Shine Forth.”
