After hedging, I am now commenting:


The Church issued a statement about the upcoming Book of Mormon Musical. Characteristically brief and to the point it states, "The production may attempt to entertain audiences for an evening, but the Book of Mormon as a volume of scripture will change people's lives forever by bringing them closer to Christ."

I've read a lot about the musical and I recently watched a short news clip of Parker and Stone describing the story. One of them commented that when Mormons boys reach 18 they go on missions.

I was dumbstruck. Mormon boys don't go on missions until they reach 19. If Parker and Stone don't know this after all this time, then they have not done their homework.


They've been lampooning Mormons for almost 20 years and they don't know this basic fact?

It's almost unbelievable. Almost . . .
