I may be Mormon but I do not understand Jews. When I was in my Ph.D. program in Virginia I once asked a fellow student, "Is [Insert obviously Jewish name here] Jewish?" Her look convinced me I had somehow missed the obvious. I had, but I didn't know it. Born, raised and educated in Utah I had had no exposure to Jews other than that provided by the national television news media.

For a few months now I've been reading the Mark Paredes blog "Jews and Mormons" in the Jewish Journal. I just found the inaugural post for a brand new blog entitled, "Latter-day Shalom" by Christa Woodall in J Weekly which serves the San Francisco Jewish community. Paredes even alerts his own readers to this worthy new addition the Jewish/Mormon dialog.
