During this episode of Mormon Identity, Brent Top, Chairman of the Department of Church History and Doctrine at BYU joins our host Robert Millet as they explore what happens to us after death. Initially Brother Millett presents the age old question posed by Job of the Old Testament, where he asked, “if a man dies, will he live again?” Brent Top follows with reference to Joseph Smith’s writings on this important subject. For example… “It is a subject we ought to study more than any other [said Joseph], we ought to study it day and night, for the world is ignorant to their true conditions and relations…” Joseph also said, “if we have any claim on anything from our Heavenly Father it is for knowledge on this important subject.” So what does happen to us after we leave this mortal existence? What will be our condition in the Spirit world? How will we relate to others and to our Heavenly Father?
