The Church History Department has announced that during April conference, the Church History Library will host a “Treasures of the Collection” open house, similar to the displays made available during the opening of the library last June.

Come enjoy a rare and unique display of historical items from the archives of the Church History Library.  View seldom seen historic books, photographs, manuscripts, journals, and minutes relating to the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The open house will be Friday, April 2, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 3, from noon-2:00 p.m. and 4:00-9:00 p.m. By hosting this event during conference time, those who were unable to attend in June of last year, as well as visiting conference attendees from around the world, will have an opportunity to see these materials. This event may also be repeated during future General Conferences.

Because these documents will be on display twice a year and to provide greater preservation measures, they will generally not be pulled from the vaults for smaller groups to view throughout the year. The Church History Department encourages you to invite your friends, family, ward, and stake members to come and visit the library and see these treasures during the conference exhibits.

The public area of the library will close to researchers at 3:00 pm on Friday, April 2, and all day Saturday, April 3, during this event.
