In the morning the sheep found a lamb had been horribly butchered in the night.  There was blood everywhere.  S0me coyotes outside the fence set up a cry.  “See,” they said, “how the fence kept the lamb from fleeing from his attackers, whomever they might have been.  This horrible tragedy means we must tear down this fence.”

Moral: Judge politicians, journalists, analysts, activists, and other strangers not by the problem they are trying to solve, but by the solutions theypush for and how honestly they push them.

Comment: In another version of this parable, the coyotes blame the fence and say that everyone who favors fences has blood on their hands, but deny that they are in favor of pulling down fences.
