5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord;
6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
These verses are so important that God has them repeated in the Old and New Testament, the Book of Mormon, and the Doctrine and Covenants. We as Latter-day Saints uniquely understand that this is a reference to the great sealing power in the Church. We understand that the very purpose of God’s plan is to link together generations and that the purpose of the world would be frustrated without those blessings.

I am so grateful for my knowledge of the capstone blessings of the temple and the confidence it gives me that my precious relationships will endure the grave.
