Yea, and have you sufficiently retained in remembrance his mercy and long-suffering towards them? And moreover, have ye sufficiently retained in remembrance that he has delivered their souls from hell?
I love how Alma reimagines the exodus narrative for his people. He focuses on how God liberated them from bondage. But his focus is not only temporal but also spiritual. The deliverance from slavery is subsidiary to the deliverance from hell. He makes it clear that temporal salvation can be a type and a shadow of spiritual salvation. 

Just as the exodus from Egypt became a narrative that symbolized redemption, so too does the escape from the evil priests of King Noah become a symbol of new birth and resurrection. Just as Alma was reawakened and helped the people escape the wicked lifestyle promoted by Noah, so too does Alma invite those who listen to it to be reawakened to their awful plight and be saved.
