With the changing seasons comes our annual Writing and Art Contest. Contest categories include poetry, creative nonfiction, fiction, and visual art. If you haven’t submitted already, there’s still time! We are accepting submissions now through the end of the year (December 31, 2015). For some inspiration, check out last year’s winners in the April 2015 online journal. Keep on reading if you’d like some answers to common questions:

What type of writing or art can I submit to the contest?

Our annual writing and art contest looks for submissions in the following categories: creative nonfiction (personal essays, lyrical essays, experimental essays, short memoirs, etc.), fiction, poetry, and visual art.

Who can submit?

We encourage all female, Latter-day Saint writers and artists to submit their applicable work.

What are the awards?

Our annual contest compensates authors and artists with a $100 award for each winning submission. In addition, winners and honorable mentions in each of the categories will be published in an online Segullah Journal in 2016.

When are submissions due?

Entries for the contest are due by December 31, 2015.
