Gospel-Library-mobile-app-iconThis article describes recent updates to the Gospel Library mobile app and resources added to the library in May.

With the Gospel Library mobile app, you can download and study the scriptures, general conference addresses, Sunday manuals, and other Church content. The app allows you to search, bookmark, annotate, link, and highlight content. When you log in with your LDS Account, all your notes and highlights will sync across all your devices.  Available for most platforms. See mobile.lds.org.

New Content

  • Triple combination of the scriptures in the languages Marshallese, Xhosa, and Zulu.
  • Book of Mormon in the Twi language.
  • Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Harold B. Lee, Heber J. Grant, Wilford Woodruff, David O. McKay, and Spencer W. Kimball in various languages.
  • Foundations of the Restoration Institute cornerstone course in English.
  • May 2015 Worldwide Devotional for Young Adults (Elder Robbins) in 22 languages.
  • Face to Face event with Elder and Sister Bednar in 11 languages.
  • Monthly issues of Church magazines.
  • More material in non-English languages. The app now has content in 107 languages.

New Features

  • An Apple iOS update 3.4.9 update was released yesterday. That update enabled audio downloading for offline listening and it added the capability to search for text on a given page.
  • For help learning about all the features in the app, select the library item “Help” and read through the User Guide.

Usage

  • The mobile app is accessed by 2.6 million devices every month.
  • There were over 60 million sessions per month.
  • Users made 16 million annotations in May.
  • People listened to 442,000 hours of audio in the last 6 weeks.

Tips

Here are some tips on how to use the new Apple iOS update 3.4.9:

  • You can download all the April 2015 conference talks for offline listening by selecting the “headphones” icon in the action bar of the April 2015 contents screen.
  • You can search and find keywords within a scripture chapter by selecting the search icon, then typing the word and selecting the first option below the search bar (“Find ‘keyword’ on page”).
