Here, perpetually manic inventor Flint Lockwood (voice of Bill Hader) travels with his father (James Caan from Elf), his girlfriend (Anna Faris), and his buddies (Benjamin Bratt, Andy Samberg, Neil Patrick Harris, and Terry Crews) back to their home island, which has become overrun with food-animal hybrids ("foodimals") such as tacodiles, shrimpanzees, and adorable giant strawberries. The animation pops, the characters are fun, and there's some good lessons taught (see below). Kids will love it (mine did) and parents won't regret a matinee, but if you wait to see it at home you're not missing out.
