A Mormon student at Florida Atlantic University is up on academic charges, likely for complaining about a classroom exercise where he was asked to stomp on the name of Jesus.

The good news is that our Mormon brother stood as a witness for Christ. The bad news is the world is making it too easy to stand for Christ. C.S. Lewis’ That Hideous Strength wasn’t meant to be an instruction manual.

The real good news, though, is also a parallel to That Hideous Strength. There, the protagonist first starts thinking there may be something to Jesus when he’s asked to trample on a crucifix. Where are the professors asking students to trample on the emblems of Judaism or Hinduism or Islam (snort!) or the Enlightenment? As always, they of the devil’s party can’t help confess that Jesus is the Christ.
