FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Book of Mormon/YouTube Challenge is Today, September 30th, 2011!
The 2nd Annual BOMYT Challenge—a powerful member-driven, faith-sharing media event—invites participants to watch a newly produced unofficial video on the Book of Mormon, and share the video and their witness of this Testament of Christ with others on September 30, 2011.
On May 3, 2010, the member-driven “First Annual Book of Mormon/YouTube Challenge” attracted approximately 60,000 participants and logged some 240,000 views in one day. The video not only reached the Top Ten Viral Videos list on CastTV, it also appeared in the “Trending Topics” on the YouTube homepage. “While the numbers are impressive,” says Erin Jakob, Event Producer, “each event is centered on sharing the power and beauty of our faith in Jesus Christ through another witness of Him, the Book of Mormon, a companion to the Bible. Our focus is on the message; the participants’ social media response will determine its reach.”
This year’s project features the addition of highly regarded videographer Seth Adam Smith, whose work has been watched by an estimated 13 million viewers. Smith’s video also feature the artwork of Howard Lyon, who, over the past 15 years has worked in the video game industry as an Art Director. His artwork will be featured on a video entitled “Messiah in America.” The musical score features powerful, unreleased music from the album Messiah in America, performed by Mormon Choral Organizations of America.
Anyone can join the BOMYT Challenge by becoming a fan on Facebook, following at www.bookofmormonbelieve.com or at Twitter: BOMYTChallenge and participating in the viewing and sharing of the video on September 30.
