For the first time in several years, I got my taxes done a few weeks before they were due. So I’m tax-stress-free today.

I’d like to thank the top 5% of earners in this country for paying more in federal income taxes than the rest of us combined.

(And just to ward off the otherwise inevitable question, the latest figures [2008] show the top 5% earned 35% of the income and paid 59% of the income taxes.)

Update: I was so unstressed about the tax deadline that I didn’t know Tax Day is actually Monday because it gets moved to Monday if April 15 is a Friday.

Update to the Update: Actually, it usually doesn’t get moved to Monday if April 15 is a Friday, but Saturday was a District of Columbia holiday observed on Friday.
