Mark Zuckerberg announced at a recent press event in California, the long-anticipated making over of messaging for Facebook’s stunningly growing user-base of over 15 million. At this SanFrancisco gathering, Zuckerberg made known that the rollout of this new user-meaningful and adaptive interfacing of IM, chat, email, SMS,  and messaging, will take place over a few month period.  With over 4 million messages sent through Facebook daily, this new non-platorm-specific modern messaging system focuses on ever more seamless, real-time interactions between users.

At close to the same time, Twitter has announced its new trend feature is now available in 18 countries and 24 cities. In addition to this tracking-trend development, Twitter is also enabling a Google translate feature for tweets, so one can also pick up the gist of conversations globally.
