Making blankets in a gymnasium jammed with people, tables, sewing machines, and fabric is a fall tradition for most of the 152 people who participated Thursday in Make a Blanket Day for Project Linus at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But for 85-year-old Mary Alice Lanter, it was a first. "This is amazing," Lanter said. "I hope the kids receiving the blankets get as much enjoyment as we're getting out of making them."
