Facebook has recently changed its privacy controls to let users determine who gets to see pictures, comments, videos, and other material in profiles.

If you have a Facebook account, I’d recommend you take some time to review and update your personal privacy settings. You will need to decide if you want only friends, friends of friends, everyone on Facebook, or a customized list of people to see things like your birthday or your most recent photos. To keep information as private as possible, you should select “only friends” or “only me” from the pull-down options for all the choices in the privacy settings, and also uncheck boxes that say information will be shared across the Web.
