The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints strongly believes in education and has many programs and resources to help increase our education, especially for youth. The Church Education System (CES) has both seminary and institute programs.

Seminary is a class held for high school students grades 9-12 and is open to youth of all denominations. Each school year students study a specific book of LDS Scripture, including the Bible. Seminary is usually held early in the morning, before school starts, although in some areas of the world it is also available as a class elective during the school block.

Institute is held on the college and university level and students can choose from a variety of offered classes including the LDS scriptures, missionary preparation, family history, and eternal marriage. Institute classes are also open to young single adults (ages 18-30) of any faith and you don't have to be a student of the local college/university to sign up and attend.

Some seminaries and institutes have their own building, while others hold classes in a non-LDS owned building.
