Bob Basso, representing a 21st century Thomas Paine, has created several phenomenally successful “We The People” YouTube videos urging Americans to stand up against congress and the president and reclaim their republic. (Thomas Paine was the author of the “Common Sense” pamphlet that made the case for independence during the American Revolution.) The video featured below has been watched 6.8 million times. Another of his videos has been watched 3.3 million times.

He condemns “non-representing representatives” and urges people to make their dissatisfaction known by writing to congressmen, marching in the streets, and insisting on responsible government. He criticizes congress for approving the “largest spending bill in history without reading it” and criticizes American citizens because “you did nothing.” He condemns spending billions of dollars in benefits for illegal aliens and the exportation of U.S. jobs overseas. "If your self-serving Congress were a business they’d all be in jail now."

Bob Basso has reportedly been summoned to the White House by President Obama “to discuss the disturbing nature of the videos.” Common sense and a free republic have become “disturbing”?

My advice: Re-elect No One -- No Exceptions! As I've stated before, the only way to stop the backroom deals, pork spending, and political abuses is to fire them all and start over.
