Joseph Smith, who was the first Prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was martyred on June 27, 1844 by a mob in Carthage Jail in the state of Illinois.  I thought the following YouTube video was a fitting way to recognize this day as the day he sealed his work with his blood.

 
I know Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God. He surely restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Earth and how grateful I am for this knowledge and testimony I have of him and the restoration of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
